2021 Ladysmith Art Market Application Information:

Date: August 22, 2021
Time: 10am - 4pm

Location: Along First Avenue, in Ladysmith, B.C., from the Roberts Street to Gatacre Street - Tent Location to be Assigned. 

Vendor Requirements:

  •  A vendor may sell non-food products, services and personal services.

  • Must do a health check before being present at the art market and must confirm with the manager that the they have passed the daily health check.

  • A vendor who has not done a health check, or not confirmed with the manager that the vendor has passed a health check, or who has not passed a health check, must not be present at the art market.

  • Must either ensure that there is a distance of two meters between the vendor and patrons, or that there is a physical barrier between the vendor and patrons which blocks the transmission of droplets, or, if this is not practical, wear a face covering.

  • A vendor is not required to wear a face covering if any of the following applies:

    • is unable to put on or remove a face covering without the assistance of another person;

    • is unable to wear a face covering because of a psychological, behavioral or health condition, or a physical, cognitive or mental impairment;

    • the face covering is removed temporarily for the purpose of identifying the vendor;

    • the face covering is removed temporarily to communicate with a person with a disability or diverse ability, where visual cues, facial expressions or lip reading or lip movements are important;

    • the vendor is eating or drinking and is not involved in a transaction with a patron.

  • Vendors must supply their own 10 x 10 market tents with side panels and all tents must be weighted down. 

  • Vendors must be a current member of the Arts Council of Ladysmith & District.


  • Vendors must have signed and submitted a indemnification form by August 1st, 2021.

  • Vendors can email a signed copy to or hand deliver a signed copy to the 444 Parkhill Terrace office. 

  • Vendors must have paid the vendor fee. 

  • Vendors must follow all Covid-19 Related protocol. (This protocol may change, updated versions will be emailed to the vendor shortly prior to the event). 

How to Apply!

1. If you are a new artist to Arts on the Avenue you will have to submit examples of your artwork to be juried.

2. You will need to fill out an application form. You can fill out our application form here.

3. Are you a member of the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District? If not, you will need to become one,  the fee for this is $30 for the year. You can find more about becoming a member here.

4. You will need to fill out our indemnification form. You can find our indemnification form here

5. Lastly, you will need make your payment. You can make your payment here. 


  • All work must represent the artist’s original design. Any work created from a commercial pattern, kit or template will NOT be accepted.

  • Artists may only display and sell work of the same style and quality that has been accepted by the jury.

  • Commercially produced cards must be subordinate to the actual work.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations prior to ___ will receive full refund less $25.00 administration fee.

  • Cancellations after ____, 4:00 pm forfeit entire registration fee.

  • $40.00 NSF cheque charge. All entries will be handled with care. However, festival organizers shall bear no responsibility or liability for loss or damage to submissions.
