The Ladysmith Printmaking Studio, part of the Arts Council of Ladysmith, is a non-toxic print studio. Akua inks, made of soy oil, are the main inks used in the studio. Printmaking workshops are offered as part of the Arts Council programming.

From the last Thursday in November until the second Sunday in January, Ladysmith is ignited with the life of thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. Over 1,000 volunteer hours are put into setting up the festive decorations and 200,000 sparkling lights.

The Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary Thrift Store is a non-profit, raising funds for local healthcare.

Ladysmith Little Theatre is a registered non-profit society. Everyone involved in our productions is a member volunteer. This includes our actors, crew, set designers, technicians, construction crew, box office, front of house, Board of Directors and committee members. Our member volunteers keep Ladysmith Little Theatre alive and growing – just as Judi and Terry Whittaker envisioned back in 2003. Learn about their upcoming season and how to become a volunteer!

Nanaimo Art Gallery is a creative hub for Vancouver Island, where we build relationships, connect communities, and effect change through art.

Nanaimo Ceramic Arts is a clay and art studio, and contemporary gallery offering hands-on pottery classes, workshops, open studio opportunities and programs for artists of all experience levels.

Discover the art of wheel throwing and hand-building, try a one-night Make a Mug or Make a Bowl experience, or develop your skills through multi-week classes and workshops. The studio also offers creative programming for children and youth.

The on-site gallery showcases and sells ceramics and artwork by local and Canadian artists, while exhibitions and the Artist-in-Residence program bring new ideas and contemporary ceramic practices into the space. Learn more about the residency program and enjoy demos.

Members of the Tzouhalem Spinners & Weavers Guild have been sharing their passion for fibre since 1973. In its early days, the group met in the homes of members. The guild quickly grew its membership and needed to move into larger quarters. At one time the basement of City Hall was home and the few books in the guild library could be carried in a suitcase! Now the Tzouhalem Spinners & Weavers Guild has their general meetings twice a month in St. Peter’s Church Hall, 5800 Church Road in Duncan B.C. We now need space for our large collection of reference materials and the looms, wheels, carders, warping mills and other equipment available for members to borrow.
